Main Street McNichols

The Live6 Alliance promotes an inclusive and thriving W. McNichols corridor and advances development strategies that catalyze it as a viable business thoroughfare and bridge between our neighborhoods’ anchor institutions — the University of Detroit Mercy and the Marygrove Conservancy.

Live6 is committed to partnering with neighborhood-based developers, property owners, artists, designers, and entrepreneurs to connect our corridor to regional, state, and national economic development opportunities and small business support services.  By adopting principles that are set forth by the the Main Street America Framework, we aim to promote growth locally utilizing the following transformation strategies:

Economic Vitality means cultivating a diverse mix of capital, incentives, and financing tools to assist new and existing businesses, catalyze property development, and to work more intentionally within Detroit’s entrepreneurial ecosystem to attract new retail products and service concepts to the area.

Promotion happens through district marketing campaigns, individual business branding and storytelling support and increasing visitorship through unique events and festivals.

Enhanced Design standards are leveraged via new streetscape improvements and require routine maintenance, neighborhood wayfinding, and working with individual businesses to rejuvenate their interiors, signage, and web presences.

Organizational Development focuses on building strong leadership and collaboration capacity, steering outcomes across sectors and strengthening our alliances to sustain these investments for years to come.
